Planning Your Wedding in Vermont

The magical seasons, the gentle rolling hills of the green mountains, fields carpeted with wild flowers, flowing babbling brooks, rustic old barns, are just a few of the reasons Vermont has become a popular destination location to celebrate your most special day. It is also the reason to start your wedding plans as soon as you have set the date.

Whether you are planning a destination to Vermont or an at home

wedding in Vermont , it is important to get a save the date out as soon

as possible so that your guest can make travel and lodging arrangements early on. You should include in your save the date's; information on Vermont's charming and scenic hamlets, activities, cultural events and that Vermont is an easy drive from all the major Northeast cities and from the convenient major airports for those traveling from a distance.

When designing the save the date and invitations consider the big picture (Including color, font, wording and style) that will set the tone and mood of your celebration and this should carry over in all aspects

of your wedding including food, music, setting and décor.

In selecting your wedding professionals, (Wedding/event planner, photographer, musicians, floral designers, caterers etc.) you are not only looking for talent, knowledge and experience but personality, trust and a comfort factor.

Make sure while working with your various VAWP professionals you discuss that you want the ceremony and celebration to be a reflection of yourselves and your personalities. It is important to make it personal; let the wedding reflect who you are. It is equally important to discuss your likes and dislikes with your vendors.

To be able to communicate your tastes and wishes for your wedding day, look through magazines and pull out pictures of flowers, cakes, foods, colors. Bring these when you meet with your event planner, caterer, florist, or bridal salon to best convey what appeals to you.

Whether your ceremony and celebration are on one of Vermont 's mountaintops, elegant ballrooms or grand estates, keeping a specific look, feel and mood in mind, the Vermont Association of Wedding Professionals can help you fill in the details to make your celebration everything you have envisioned for this most special occasion.
